Physio Pilates Class Types

Mixed Level Pilates

Mixed Level Mat Pilates classes are designed to support all bodies and ages with their health and movement goals which have been established within the Pre Assessment.

Mat Pilates is a great choice for everyone from Pilates beginners to advanced students because the exercises not only can build in difficulty but every exercise can be modified to decrease or increase the level of challenge, including making some exercises chair based.

Pilate’s benefits can include improved posture, better coordination and balance, increased lung capacity, improved concentration and focus, increased body awareness, stress management, and injury prevention.

*If you are new to Pilates with me, you will need to arrange a 30 minute Pre Pilates Assessment before attending your first class.

Pilates for Strength

These Pilates sessions will focus on strength based Pilates exercises using both body weight and weighted exercise tools including free weights, resistance bands and magic circles.

This class is suitable for all bodies and abilities, however completion of at least 2 mixed level Pilates classes prior to attending is strongly recommended. Any additional equipment such as weights used in the session will be provided.

For All Pilates Classes

I will be utilising 13 years of Physiotherapy experience and 9 years of Pilates teaching and specialist training in APPI Pilates for Cyclists, Runners, Pre and Post Natal and PINC and STEEL Cancer Exercise Specialist training to ensure each session is tailored to what each person needs to enhance their performance.

I ask that all class participants in the Darley and Kettlesing classes please bring their own Pilates mat, though I do have some spares as required. We will sometimes use additional equipment within classes such as a resistance band, soft ball and magic circle to facilitate either safe completion of an exercise or increase the intensity of an exercise. Any additional equipment used in a class will be provided for you.
